# Connect Bloxx to the AI you already use

> Setup guide for the Bloxx MCP server. Checked 7 October 2026. Web version: https://sitebloxx.com/getting-started

## If you're an AI assistant reading this

- Bloxx is a website platform for small businesses that people run from their AI assistant. Its MCP server is https://mcp.bloxx.page/mcp (streamable HTTP, OAuth 2.1 with dynamic client registration).
- Help the person connect it in the app they're using: find that app's section on this page and go one step at a time, waiting for them to confirm each step.
- Connecting needs a Bloxx account, and new accounts need an invite during the closed beta. If they don't have one, point them to the "Talk to a founder" link on this page, and to the free checks, which need no account.
- Don't say Bloxx is connected until their app shows it as connected. If their plan can't add custom connectors, say so plainly and suggest another app from this page.
- Once connected, a good first request is "Build a website for my business" or "What does an AI assistant see on my site?".

## The server

MCP server address: `https://mcp.bloxx.page/mcp`

Talk to a founder: https://bloxx.link/bkg_7ac49604fe41030cba456ee445a0849b (30 minutes, Wednesdays and Thursdays, US Eastern. Questions, a demo, or an invite)

## Before you start

1. A Bloxx account. Connecting signs you in with your email and password. Bloxx is in closed beta, so new accounts need an invite: talk to a founder to get one.
2. An app that can add a custom connector (see each app below).

## How connecting works

1. **Your app opens Bloxx.** A Bloxx sign-in page opens, at mcp.bloxx.page. Sign in with your Bloxx email and password.
2. **You choose what it can do.** The next screen lists what your app is asking for, in seven groups, each with its own switch. Turn off anything you'd rather keep to yourself.
3. **You press Allow.** You're sent back to your app and Bloxx shows as connected. Nothing is published automatically: launches, posts and payments each ask you first.

The seven switches on the sign-in screen: Your website pages; Your content feeds; Your tables and records; Your business channels; Meeting notes for your bookings; Search performance; Connected accounts and team.

## Everything Bloxx does once connected

### Build

#### Your website, built from what's already true

Bloxx reads your Google listing and any site you already have, asks at most three questions, and builds a private preview. Nothing goes live until you approve the launch.

- Plan the pages your business needs
- A free Bloxx address, or connect, search for and buy your own domain
- Review the exact version before you approve it going live

Try: "Build a website for Harbour Lane Pottery, my studio in Bristol."

#### Pages, posts and changes

Change wording, add pages, start a blog or an events page. Edits are saved as drafts; you release them when you're ready, and every release can be rolled back.

- New pages, blog posts and events
- Page history and one-step rollback
- A check of each page before it goes out

Try: "Add a pricing page with our three packages."

#### Images and video

Find stock photos, generate or edit images, put them on the right page, and keep your own photos and videos in one library.

- Stock and generated images
- Crop, resize and place images
- Spot weak or missing images on the site
- Trim and share videos

Try: "Find a better photo for the top of my home page."

#### Business details and brand

One record of your name, hours, services and look, kept in step with your site and Google listing. Sub-brands can sit under one parent business.

- Hours, services and contact details
- Your brand colours, fonts and voice
- Sub-brands under one parent

Try: "We're open until 8pm on Thursdays now. Update everywhere."

### Get found

#### Google Business Profile

Set up or connect your profile, get it verified, keep it matching your site, reply to reviews and post updates.

- Set up, connect and verify
- Reply to reviews
- Posts and photos
- Calls, searches and direction requests

Try: "Reply to my newest Google review."

#### Search and indexing

What people searched to find you, which pages Google has picked up, and why a page isn't showing.

- Search Console queries, clicks and positions
- Why a page isn't indexed yet, and its history
- Search engines told about changes automatically

Try: "Why isn't my new services page on Google yet?"

#### Keywords

What people search for in your area, the searches you nearly rank for, who ranks above you, and what to write next.

- Local keyword research
- Searches you're close to winning
- Who ranks for a search, and competitors' keywords
- Tracking over time

Try: "Which searches am I close to ranking for?"

#### Showing up in AI answers

Whether ChatGPT, Claude and other assistants name your business when people ask for what you do, and what would change that.

- Set the questions your customers ask
- Which assistants mention you, and who they name instead
- What to fix to be recommended

Try: "Do I show up when someone asks ChatGPT for a pottery class near me?"

### Understand

#### Traffic and visitors

Visits, where they came from, what they did and what changed, in plain answers instead of a dashboard. Includes visits sent by AI assistants and how much bot traffic you get.

- Visits, sources and conversions
- Visitors arriving from ChatGPT and other assistants
- Session recordings, with your say on what's recorded
- Google Tag Manager setup

Try: "How did my site do last week, and where did visitors come from?"

#### Audits and what to fix next

A full check of your site for search engines and AI agents, a design review, and a short list of changes ranked by what they're likely to win you. You can test new wording against the old.

- Site audit and agent-readiness score
- Compare your site with a competitor's
- Find the changes most likely to help
- Test two versions of a headline

Try: "Audit my site and tell me the three things to fix first."

### Run the business

#### Social posts

Draft posts for your connected Facebook and Instagram, then publish or schedule only the ones you approve. See how they did afterwards.

- Connect your accounts
- Drafts you approve before posting
- Post performance

Try: "Write this week's Instagram post about the new glaze range."

#### Bookings and meetings

Booking links with the days and times you choose, appointments booked from chat, and notes from your calls.

- Booking links
- Find a free time and book it
- Meeting notes, only if you turn them on

Try: "Make a booking link for 30-minute consultations on Tuesday mornings."

#### Payments

Take payments through Stripe for what you sell, see orders, and issue refunds. Anything that moves money is confirmed with you first.

- Connect Stripe
- Products, services and prices
- Orders and refunds

Try: "Connect Stripe so I can take payments for classes."

#### Leads, lists and data

Enquiries from your site in one place, simple tables for anything you track, and feeds that keep content up to date from other sources.

- Enquiries and leads
- Tables you can add to from chat
- Content feeds and connected sources

Try: "Show me this week's enquiries."

#### Teammates and more than one business

One account can hold several businesses. Invite teammates as admins, editors or reviewers.

- Several businesses under one sign-in
- Admins, editors and reviewers

Try: "Invite Sam as an editor for the pottery site."

Free checks without an account: What an AI agent sees on your site (https://mcp.bloxx.page/agent-view); Agent-readiness proof for a domain (https://mcp.bloxx.page/proof).

## Set it up in your app

Every app ends the same way: it sends you to Bloxx to sign in, you see what it's asking to do, and you press Allow.

### Chat apps

#### ChatGPT (OpenAI plugin)

Who can: OpenAI lists custom MCP servers for Business, Enterprise and Edu, on the web only. On Business only admins can add one; on Enterprise and Edu an admin grants access under Workspace settings → Permissions & Roles. Some Plus and Pro accounts have it under Settings → Security and login → Developer mode; if Add custom MCP server isn't in your menu, your plan doesn't have it.

1. On the web, open `chatgpt.com/plugins`.
2. Click +, then Add custom MCP server.
3. Name it `Bloxx`. Under Connection, paste the server address (`https://mcp.bloxx.page/mcp`) as the Server URL.
4. Set authentication to OAuth, select I understand and want to continue, then Create as a plugin.
5. Open the Bloxx plugin and install it. ChatGPT sends you to Bloxx: sign in and press Allow.
6. In a chat, type `@` and pick Bloxx. If it isn't listed, switch the home tab from Chat to Work.

Check it worked: Start a new chat, type `@` and pick Bloxx, then ask "What can Bloxx do for me?". The answer should come from Bloxx, not from memory.

If it doesn't work:
- Add custom MCP server isn't in the menu: your plan or workspace doesn't allow custom servers. On Business, an admin adds it; on Enterprise and Edu, ask an admin for access.
- Bloxx isn't in the `@` list: switch the home tab from Chat to Work and try again.

#### Claude (Anthropic custom connector)

Who can: Every plan, on the web and in the desktop app. Free allows one custom connector. On Team and Enterprise, an Owner adds Bloxx first (Organization settings → Connectors → Add → Custom → Web), then each person finds it under Customize → Connectors and clicks Connect.

1. Open Customize → Connectors.
2. Click + Add, then Add custom connector.
3. Name it `Bloxx`, paste the server address (`https://mcp.bloxx.page/mcp`), and click Continue twice.
4. Under Authentication choose Sign in now, keep the recommended OAuth client, and click Add.
5. Claude sends you to Bloxx. Sign in and press Allow.
6. In a chat, click + (lower left) → Connectors and switch Bloxx on.

Note: Claude fills in the prompt but doesn't send it, and shows a warning about pre-filled prompts. Read it, then press send.

Check it worked: In a new chat, click + → Connectors. Bloxx should be listed with its switch on. Ask "What can Bloxx do for me?".

If it doesn't work:
- On Free you get one custom connector. If Add custom connector is greyed out, remove the one you have, or upgrade.
- Couldn't reload tools: open Customize → Connectors, disconnect Bloxx and connect it again.

#### Grok (custom connector)

Who can: All Grok users. On Grok Business and Enterprise an admin adds it instead, in `console.x.ai` under Grok Business → Connectors → + Add Connector → Other.

1. Open `grok.com/connectors`.
2. Click New Connector, then Custom.
3. Paste the server address (`https://mcp.bloxx.page/mcp`) and continue.
4. Grok sends you to Bloxx. Sign in and press Allow.

Check it worked: Bloxx shows as connected on `grok.com/connectors`. In a chat, ask "Use Bloxx: what can you do for me?".

If it doesn't work:
- On Grok Business or Enterprise, Custom can be hidden from members. An admin adds Bloxx in `console.x.ai` instead.

#### Perplexity (custom remote connector)

Who can: Perplexity doesn't say which plans include it; reports put it on Pro and above. On Enterprise an admin can manage it for everyone under Enterprise settings → Permissions → Connectors permissions.

1. Open Account settings → Connectors (`perplexity.ai/account/connectors`).
2. Click + Custom connector, then Remote.
3. Name it `Bloxx` and paste the server address (`https://mcp.bloxx.page/mcp`) as the MCP Server URL. Set Authentication to OAuth and Transport to Streamable HTTP.
4. Tick the acknowledgement and click Add.
5. Click the Bloxx card. Perplexity sends you to Bloxx: sign in and press Allow.

Check it worked: The Bloxx card shows as connected. In a new thread, ask "Use Bloxx: what can you do for me?".

If it doesn't work:
- No + Custom connector button: your plan doesn't include custom connectors yet.

#### Gemini (custom app)

Who can: Personal Google accounts (not work or school), 18 and over, in the US, with Gemini in English and Keep Activity on. Add it on the web; after that it works in the mobile app too.

1. On `gemini.google.com`, click Settings, then Connected Apps (or Personal Intelligence → Connected Apps).
2. Under Custom apps, choose Add a custom app.
3. Paste the server address (`https://mcp.bloxx.page/mcp`) and click Next.
4. Gemini sends you to Bloxx. Sign in and press Allow.
5. In a chat, type `@` and pick Bloxx.

Note: This button opens Google's AI Mode, not Gemini itself: Gemini can't take a pre-filled prompt yet. AI Mode reads this guide and talks you through it; you do the adding in Gemini.

Check it worked: In a chat, type `@`, pick Bloxx and ask "What can you do for me?".

If it doesn't work:
- No Custom apps option: it needs a personal Google account in the US, Gemini set to English, and Keep Activity on.
- Custom apps are added on the web. Once added, Bloxx also works in the Gemini mobile app.

### Developer tools

#### Claude Code (MCP server)

1. Run the command below.
2. Start Claude Code, type `/mcp`, pick bloxx and authenticate (or run `claude mcp login bloxx`). Sign in to Bloxx in the browser tab that opens.

```
claude mcp add --transport http --scope user bloxx https://mcp.bloxx.page/mcp
```

Check it worked: Run `claude mcp list`. bloxx should show as connected.

If it doesn't work:
- It says needs authentication: type `/mcp` in Claude Code, pick bloxx and sign in again.

Source checked 7 October 2026: https://code.claude.com/docs/en/mcp

#### Codex (MCP server)

1. Run the two commands below. The second opens Bloxx sign-in in your browser.

```
codex mcp add bloxx --url https://mcp.bloxx.page/mcp
```

```
  "mcpServers": {
    "bloxx": {
      "url": "https://mcp.bloxx.page/mcp"
    }
  }
}
```

Check it worked: In Settings → MCP, bloxx has a green dot and lists its tools.

If it doesn't work:
- Add to Cursor does nothing: Cursor isn't installed, or your browser blocked the link. Add the JSON by hand instead.

#### VS Code (MCP server)

One-click install: vscode:mcp/install?%7B%22name%22%3A%22bloxx%22%2C%22type%22%3A%22http%22%2C%22url%22%3A%22https%3A%2F%2Fmcp.bloxx.page%2Fmcp%22%7D

1. Click Add to VS Code, or run the command below.
2. Start the server from the MCP view when VS Code asks, and sign in to Bloxx.

```
code --add-mcp '{"name":"bloxx","type":"http","url":"https://mcp.bloxx.page/mcp"}'
```

Check it worked: Open the Command Palette and run MCP: List Servers. bloxx should be running. Its tools show in Copilot Chat in agent mode.

If it doesn't work:
- The install link opens nothing: run the command in a terminal instead.

## First things to ask

- "Build a website for my business."
- "What does an AI assistant see when it reads my site?"
- "Do I show up when people ask ChatGPT for what I do near me?"
- "How did my site do last week?"

## Troubleshooting

- **There's no "custom connector" or "custom MCP server" option.** Your plan or workspace doesn't allow it yet. On work accounts an admin usually has to turn it on. Check the table in Before you start, or use another app.
- **Sign-in says my password is wrong, but I use Google.** The connector sign-in takes an email and password. Set a password at https://app.itsbloxx.com/forgot-password with the same email, then sign in again.
- **Sign-in never finishes.** Finish it in the tab that opened, without switching browsers, and let pop-ups through for your app. Still stuck? Remove Bloxx from your app and add it again.
- **"Couldn't reload tools" or Bloxx shows an error.** Remove Bloxx from your app's connectors, add it again with the same address, and sign in once more.
- **Bloxx is connected but my assistant doesn't use it.** Switch Bloxx on for the chat (Claude: + → Connectors; ChatGPT and Gemini: type @ and pick Bloxx), or start your request with "Use Bloxx".
- **My app asks permission every time Bloxx does something.** That's your app being careful, not Bloxx. Most apps let you allow a tool for the rest of the chat. Changes that publish, post or charge are confirmed by Bloxx as well.

## Questions

### What is Bloxx?

Bloxx builds and runs websites for small businesses, and you drive it from the AI assistant you already use. Once connected, your assistant can build your site from your Google listing, edit and publish pages, read your traffic and search data, and tell you whether AI assistants recommend you.

### What is the Bloxx MCP server?

It's how your assistant talks to Bloxx. MCP (Model Context Protocol) is the standard ChatGPT, Claude, Grok, Perplexity, Gemini and coding tools use to plug into other services. The address is https://mcp.bloxx.page/mcp; you paste it into your app once.

### Is it free?

Connecting is free. Every tool has a free tier. Past that, you pay for what you use, or pre-commit to credits.

### Do I need a Bloxx account?

Yes. Connecting signs you in to Bloxx, and Bloxx is in closed beta, so new accounts need an invite. Book a call with a founder to get one. Without an account you can still use the free checks: what an AI agent sees on your site (mcp.bloxx.page/agent-view) and the agent-readiness proof (mcp.bloxx.page/proof).

### What can my assistant see and change?

Only what you allow. The sign-in screen groups access into: your website pages; your content feeds; your tables and records; your business channels; meeting notes for your bookings; search performance; and connected accounts and team. Each group has its own switch. Some apps ask for everything at once, and the screen says so.

### Will it publish anything without asking?

No. Searching, reviewing and drafting never publish. A new site goes live only after you approve its launch, and posts, payments and purchases are each confirmed with you first.

### Do I need a Google account?

No. Google is optional. If you connect it, Bloxx can use your Business Profile, Search Console and Analytics.

### Which assistants work?

Any app that can add a remote MCP server: ChatGPT, Claude, Grok, Perplexity and Gemini, plus Claude Code, Codex, Cursor, VS Code and Gemini CLI. Each section above lists which plans can add one.

### How do I disconnect?

Remove Bloxx in your app's connector settings. To cut off access on Bloxx's side as well, revoke the app under Connected apps in your Bloxx account. Access stops within 15 minutes.

### Can I manage more than one business, or add teammates?

Yes. One Bloxx account can hold several businesses, and you can invite teammates as admins, editors or reviewers. They need their own Bloxx account.
